Penguin portfolio

Events and social were a big part of the Penguin design work alongside references to their traditional past

Penguin were looking to transform their online presence from an online bookstore to a place where they could engage with their customers

The pitch work we produced contained elements of social media and review to create a hub of engagement. Cosmetics were paramount with typography used elegantly to try and reflect the physical side of the brand, using serif fonts and concentrating on line length and justification.

The work produced was required to:

  • Increase traffic: Penguin wanted to create more engagement with the brand online
  • Improve engagement: help penguin become less dependent on large retailer sales and become a destination in its own right
  • Celebrate the brand’s history: penguin wanted a confident retail space online that was accessible and usable

We combined the nostalgia of Penguin book ownership and fused it with a modern sense of community that felt right for the brand.
